And then it hit me....

Yesterday was SO nice. The whole weekend was great weather so we were outside 90% of the time. Saturday we started at Tommy's game at 8 in the AM, then headed to the Home Depot so the boys could build rain gages. They both did REALLY good. Next up was Waffle House to celebrate the end of Tommy's great season. He specifically asked for the .99 cent pie. LOL We were VERY proud of him this year. He was an all around great athlete out there. Very proud!
Sunday we worked outside and then headed to the park for a bike ride and picnic. Apparently EVERYONE else had the same idea. It was packed but well worth it. We took the boys bikes and they rode along the bike trail. In true Cochran boy fashion they were both very scare they would break an arm but we assured them they would be just fine. I honestly don't know where they get it from. Such drama with those two. HA
After the ride we headed over the the Suwanee park for a picnic and some football/baseball/soccer. We had three things going at once. Jimmy starts soccer soon so Dad got him a soccer ball and he shocked us. HE DID GREAT!
On the bike trail Marc and the boys were fascinated with two things. Deer that were just laying there sleeping and poop. Yes poop. Geez, who knew it was so fascinating to track an animal by its poop. UGH whatever!
Then on the way to the park they boys decided to see who could burp louder. Jimmy's was completly fake but he didn't care. At that point this was the conversation:
Me: You know it occurs to me that we have been married for 10 years and had boys for the better part of that time. We play their games, we fish, we make two hour drives just to LOOK at deer....but has any one of you ever......
Marc: ROLLING EYES.....Have we ever said "WHAT WOULD MOMMY LIKE TO DO TODAY, WE SHOULD DO SOMETHING GIRLY SHE LIKES TO DO"
I looked over at him and then it hit me.....THEY WERE DOING EXACTLY what I wanted. Do you honestly think any one of them would have thought to have a picnic in the park and a bike ride. UMMM....no.
When I put the bikes in the car that morning I FULLY expected them ALL to cry about it. Marc thinking it was to much to take the bikes, Tommy and Jimmy thinking they HAD to have their scooters instead. But you know what? NO ONE COMPLAINED! Its the little things! HA.
The three of them make me feel so special in their own ways.
Jimmy with his FULL ON LIPS kisses
Tommy with his openness to talk about things that matter to him
Marc with his silent understanding

We had a great day.

No one told me how intertwined motherhood and marriage are. Watching those two together says it all for me.
