Dreaming of Spring

The weather is so icky here. I'm just tired of the cold, damp, windy, blah days. Lately I have been putting some thought towards our garden. Last year was just my first year and I really had no idea what I was doing. I plan on some changes this year. I CAN NOT wait until we have our fresh tomatoes and cucumbers again. I will be adding a few new veggies but for the most part I like to stick to one thing and do it well. All these thoughts made we want to visit the community garden in Suwanee. It is adorable. Jimmy and I went for a walk through it after school today.

For some reason this barn reminds me of a great place to have a good old fashioned dance in the summer or spring. Kind of like the one in Hope Floats.

There have a big space to have picnics too.

Jimmy's favorite part was the chickens.

The one thing I was the most impressed with was how clean and manicured it was. They are really doing a great job keeping this place up. I was very impressed.

For now we will just wait and plan. Its cold, windy and rainy here today. Great day to
just relax and enjoy the down time. We are going to have a very busy weekend so I am going to enjoy it while I can.

Swedish meatballs, bookcases and some much needed Exercise!

After a fun but busy weekend with Marc and the boys, it was SO nice to get out and have a nice brisk walk/run this morning. I love our park to walk at. All I had was my phone so pics don't show it justice. So nice to just have quiet and time to think. I love them but MAN my kids can talk.

2.2 Today and hopefully I will do it twice Wed. Wish me luck.

We headed downtown to Ikea Saturday. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It is very rare that I have no idea if I like a place or don't like a place. I honestly could not tell you if I was a fan or not. One minute I hated it the other minute I loved it. Our style has always been traditional and kinda rustic. Lately I just like cozy. I joke that my style is Little Tykes. Marc and I both just want to lighten up and update our style. Our front room has never really had a purpose. We have the computer in there but I wouldn't call it an office. I found these bookcases and I love them. I cant wait to show you the completed look. We still have paint, drapes and walls to do. I also got there and hated the color so I changed it to a dark brown look. I cant wait to have it all done and show everyone. The end result will hopefully be a room that is cozy and warm. I can use the computer and the kids can work on there homework or chill with some tv. Maybe a place they can hang with friends and some video games. We will see.

I did get a Wok at Ikea and I cant wait to try it out. I am dying to make a stir fry recipe I got last week. We were going to eat there but I kinda lost my mind. It was crazy busy and the line was moving so fast. Tommy was begging me for Swedish Meatballs and Jimmy was trying to start with desert first. It was all to much for my brain on that particular day. I didn't feel like spending money but not enjoying the experience. So we finally took Tommy to Rosas Mexicana. It was so much fun and we had a great time.

It was a busy weekend but a lot of fun. I promise to show you the room when it is all done. I also promised to take Tommy back for the Swedish Meatballs.

Jimmy overload

I apologize upfront. We have been staying home A LOT lately. That means it has been just Jimmy and I for most of the day. The other day my Mom got this gingerbread house at Bed Bath and Beyond on clearance. I just let Jimmy have his way with it. He honestly did the entire thing by himself. I helped VERY little. Who would have thought he would have had so much fun doing it. He spent most of the afternoon with this thing. He was so proud of it!

Uncle David got Marc a record player for Christmas. We have been having so much fun with it. That is a whole other post though. I am going crazy in the antique stores with records. There is some really neat stuff out there. Jimmy is crazy about one of Marcs old records from when he was a kid. We have the book that goes with it. I just think the video is funny becuase he is concentrating SO hard on the words. You cant tell but he was really trying to sing along. Its a just for Granparents kind of video. LOL

I promise to get out more next week!!!!! LOL

Ready Set Go!

Hi, my name is Becky and I am COMPLETELY addicted to my Express Ready Set Go. I got it for Christmas and I adore it! You may laugh now but trust me on this one. I have used it for everything. The kids have made countless mini pizzas, omelette's, sandwiches and TONS of other stuff. One thing I love about it is how versatile and healthy you can make your meal. In just a few minutes we can make ANY kind of combination of ANYTHING. I'm not kidding, the possibility's are endless. I let Tommy make his own omelet in the morning. He likes peppers and junk in his but Jimmy doesn't. There is a tray for that...mmmmhmmm LOVIN IT. Last night Marc was running late and the Kids and I were not feeling so great. We cant get rid of this stupid cold. I made some sesame pork medallions with sweet potatoes and apples. Jimmy devoured it.

7 minutes!

Yep, that is Jimmy eating on the couch. Don't judge me, I didn't feel good! HA

He wanted me to show you he ate all his food. lol

Here is one problem I am having though. Lately I have started cooking a lot healthier. The only thing is that Jimmy is the only one that seems to be loosing so much weight. Maybe he is just going through a growth spurt or something. The poor thing is getting skinny! I do remember Tommy getting that way though at around the same age. My only question is, what in the world am I going to do when little man goes to school next year?

Happy 9th Birthday Tommy!

My first born turned 9! I cant believe it. I know they say time flies but this is crazy.

Every year Tommy gets cheated out of a birthday party because it is so close to Christmas. Last year snow cancelled it. This year I let the holiday break get away from me and didn't get the invites out early enough. I know, I'M HORRIBLE! Everything ended up working great though. His little friends Trey, Jake and Dylan made it.

He loves Oasis bowl. We have been going there for his birthday pretty much every year since he was 4.

Kids just make me happy.

He loved his GI Joe cake!

Our baby is 9 years old! WOW

He is cracking me up with his new watch. He has been timing everything I do.

Unlce Dave and his family (plus half of mine). They are always so good to us.

All in all it went great. He had just who he wanted and they had a fun time. Now, maybe this crazy holiday break train is almost OVER! HA

Southern Snow 2011

Well, they were right. Us southerners tend to freak out when snow is coming. The night before it was suppose to hit us Mom and I went to Publix. It cracked me up because there was more then enough milk, break, eggs, wine (lol) but absolutely NO beef or chicken. I guess everyone was afraid they may want a burger. HA One of my favorite things to do in ANY weather is build a fire. It is just what we do!

Lots of snow!

We got all our layers on and walked up to Grandma and Grandpas to see if we could find some Hot Chocolate! LOL

Grandma and Grandpas backyard

The boys favorite "ride" their wagon.

Chillin

Daddy and Tommy. Pretty sure that snowball was coming my way.

I was SO glad I decided to make a Boston Butt in the crockpot. We made pulled pork and coleslaw. It was amazing! HA I'm not sure when but we started putting our slaw on or BBQ sandwich. TRUST ME! So good!

I am in love with my view from the back of the house.

Marc getting the Yukon ready for Dad to go to Walmart. Gotta love the 4 wheel drive.

The Cochrans

I seriously think Grandpa just took both my boys out with snowballs.

Perfect day. No school or work. Just fun times. It is suppose to freeze tonight and be worse tomorrow. We are all just staying in the house until our food runs out. LOL

I saw this video today and thought it was adorable. Such sweet children! My favorite part of the whole video though is the Dad "DON'T OPEN IT DON'T OPEN IT DON'T OPEN IT!". LOL Sounds JUST like Marc Christmas morning. You cant take those suckers back if you mess that box up! HA

Happy New Year!!!! 2011

Happy New Year 2011!!!! Wow, time is flying! We just chilled at home this year. After a long week and MONTH of partying, spending, eating....ugh, we just wanted to chill at home a little. Of course we had to have a little appetizers and some great steaks. It was New Years Eve after all. Oh how my Tommy LOVES him some appetizers. I will never forget the first time he discovered appetizers. LOL He was staying at Grandma and Grandpas and they had some Ritz crackers with cream cheese on them. HE WAS HOOKED!!!! I always say that he is the only 8 year old that would rather sit and talk with some appetizers and a glass of Chardonnay. HA That kid kills me.

I'm in love with my new Jenga game. HA So silly but its just fun! I didn't think Jimmy would get the hang of it but he did really well!

Jimmy watched Charlie Brown and his Grandma and Grandpas and decided he MUST have Root Beer Floats at midnight on New Years! Who was I to say no. They couldn't wait for their floats.

Over the last week we have use the DVR a TON! I got addicted to the Toddlers and Tierras marathon. HONEY, that's another post for another day. Marc and I watched Extreme Couponing. HA. We will see how long this lasts.

Favorite new find. Bear Creek chicken noodle soup with a Rotisserie chicken. SO EASY BUT SO GOOD.

The last few days the boys have been on a mission to play with everything they got for Christmas. They finally made it to the army stuff. Just as soon as Tommy would get it all set up just the way he wanted it Jimmy would do a "Sneak Attack". Lets just say this did not go over so well.

As soon as I tried to take big brothers picture little brother HAD to jump in with his helicopter. I promise they have underwear on. After bath time around here you get what you get. LOL

The last month has been LONG but GREAT. I'm not sure why but I have a really wonderful feeling about this year. I am starting off 2011 in a really good place. I feel more secure with myself as a mother, wife and daughter then I ever have. I love my husband and sons with a fierce passion and my family and friends brighten every day. I am a lucky girl.
