Livin it up...

(Pics with the phone...that has been dropped SEVERAL times)

We have been livin it up with the boys still gone. I think we ate at every restaurant in Gwinnett County this weekend. Between eating and shopping we stayed pretty busy. When Tommy gets home he is going to have a surprise. We finished his room with a new desk and his computer. He is gonna FA REAK! I just thought it was funny having lunch in a Wallmart.

But what I REALLY thought was funny was that after 14 years of being together, 10 years of marriage and two sons....he still makes me use my own straw. Seriously.

Bountiful harvest and missing my little ones

How adorable were the boys getting ready to leave for their Grandmother and Papaws. Tommy was cheesing it up. They are currently in Woodstock having a blast. Man do I miss them though. Marc and I had a GREAT afternoon shopping and EATING. LOL We just couldnt get over the fact that we only spent $20.00 to eat. LOL It's the little things. Even though we are missing them we know it is GREAT for them and for us.

Veggies are popping up all over the place around here and I'm LOVING it! My tomatoes are coming in and Im giving them away like crazy. Honestly right now my new favorite are these little burpless cucumbers that my mother in law gave me. SO YUMMY!

This afternoon my neighbor brought me a big selection of okra, zucchini, squash and more cucumbers. YEAH FOR US! Look, I'll be really honest here. I am obviously going to have to google some recipes for these little guys. HA. But Im having so much fun experimenting with them. Marc only knows how to fry most of them. LOL Im trying to find some good seasonings and steam them. YUM YUM YUM.

Lets talk about Jimmy for a minute

Oh come on...tell me that does not make you smile. LOL He asked me if we could play outside so I told him if he went and got dressed (he was of course just in underwear). Im pretty sure this was the first thing he came across. Pants from last year (if you can believe that) and his brothers favorite Halloween shirt. Silly boy. For some reason he is always doing this little dance for me.

He played HARD today. Pretty much like every other day. Poor baby...summer is REALLY hard on him. HA HA

Hes just kidding honey, I promise!

We had a pretty chill Fathers Day. First we headed up the street to see Dad and Mom. For some reason the boys think he is a jungle gym. Man they love him though.

After a yummy lunch we headed up to Dahlonega to show the kids how to pan for gold. Instead we ended up taking a tour of the oldest mine there. Great timing because it was 90 something outside but not over 60 degrees down there. PERFECT!

Can I just tell you how much I DONT like tight spaces. You cant tell in the pic, but where that ladies hand is tells you how wide it was on both sides.

Oh PLEASE tell me that's light!

The kids were doing FANTASTIC....until about half way.....

That is a look of excitement mixed with I hope this is safe...

This little machine is called a widow maker. The tour guide was trying to make some suspense and started talking about how fragile the walls could be and "what if dynamite was still in there" then he turned it on! L O U D! As you can imagine this flipped Jimmy out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I felt so sorry for him. He was trying to be so good but he was terrified. Pretty much the whole group had to reassure him that we would not let anything happen to him. He told the guide he didn't want him to blow it up!!!!! Please dont hit that! Poor thing. LOL

This is where he was poking around in the drilled hole. He was telling us that if dynamite was left in there and he accidentally hit it it would EXPLODE! Sorry about that Jimmy. He was just trying to create some suspense for the rest of us. Im pretty sure we effectively squashed that for everyone. HA OOPS.

Oh sweet light!

Afterwords we let the boys pan for some gems. THEY LOVED IT. Tommy is trying to sell his on ebay. LOL

The loved it. They actually got some really neat gems.

Had a great time but glad we are back above ground!

By the way......

This is the barstool I HAVE MY HEART set on.... I mean Im having a love affair with it....
but this is the one I will probably get....
what do you think?

It's finally here!

Ok, so you may remember I had a little crazy streak a few weeks ago. I decided I wanted new furniture. Well, first I wanted new kitchen chairs then it lead to a WAY BIGGER PROJECT. So I decided I would try to sell some of my old stuff on craigslist and use that to help buy new stuff. Sounds like a good idea right? It started so innocent. It ended up with me selling:

my patio furniture, kitchen table, chairs and barstools, recliner, coffee table, 2 end tables, master bedroom furniture, Jimmy's bedroom furniture, armoire, dining room table and chairs, and jogging stroller. I think thats all of it.

You laugh but now I'm starting to get all the new stuff and I'm having a blast doing it. I'm in love with my kitchen table. The other one was nice but WAY to big and not practical. This one is perfect for family dinners (the ONLY way we eat around here). Plus, when we BBQ you can get out the door! LOL Im sure I will have to go bigger in a few years when the boys start growing like crazy but now I know I will always have a round kitchen table!

The seats are a slight area of concern. Like, I threw my body over one when I saw Jimmy heading for it with a strawberry. HA. The really are not as white as they look in the pictures. I'm treating them with the stain stuff from Havertys (AWESOME STUFF).

Today I ordered Tommys desk and comforter for his room and our furniture. It gets here Friday and I CANT WAIT! Next up is Jimmys furniture but its on back order.

This is where we have been...

Any free moment we have we are at the pool. I am not exaggerating. I wish I was. Don't get me wrong its great but too much of anything is never a good thing. HA. Its just so HOT! I can not tell you how much we love having such a nice pool that we can walk to. Most days it is pretty empty and when it isn't its just our friends. Great times. Especially because we are melting here in GA!

Our little adventure

Friday the boys and I set out for an adventure

We left early and went to the Fernbank Science Center. We had lunch and saw all the bugs, snakes and dinos we could handle. We even went for a BRAVE walk in the forest behind the center. Trust me, you had to be brave. The had signs EVERYWHERE warning of rattle snakes.

Then we headed on over to Daddys office to pick him up. We all headed to Pine Mnt for the weekend to meet Mom and Dad. We had so much fun. Tommy caught a fish within an hour of getting there with his new swanky fishing pole.

Man was he P R O U D!

Of course we had corn on the cob!

Caught some lightning bugs

Then Jimmy got to catch his first fish with his new Spiderman fishing pole.

On the last day looky what we got. Tommy got a big old catfish. ( Im thinking it was Daddy and a hotdog but whatever). Way to go TOMMY!

Had to go see where Roosevelt use to have his picnics

We had so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa

Thanks so much guys we had a blast! I think we started something with the fishing. They are so ready to go again already!

The boys started VBS Sunday and LOVE IT! Tommy didn't want to go at first but oh man was he glad he did. I cant believe how excited he was to go back the next night.

Each night they have penny races between the boys and girls.

Jimmy holding on tight to his penny's!

Why oh why must they grow up

You gotta be kidding me

I honestly can not believe we have come to this.

Watching cartoons in the grocery cart. Crazy. Remember the days when you would talk to your little one while grocery shopping. He would help me pick things out and we would talk about things and to other people. Then we would go up to the checkout and actually talk to the cashier. Yeah that was like a year ago. Now you can watch cartoons and then go to the self checkout and NEVER have human contact. LOL

As you can see I wasn't really complaining today. HA. I told them they could try it out for a few minutes. It took about a second to realize Tommy did not fit.
