Pizza night Cochran style!

Do you know what you do when you don't feel like making dinner but your kids feel like eating dinner?

You let them make dinner

They will always eat what THEY made

And they will take so much pride in what THEY made

And sometimes what THEY make will turn out better then anything you would have made!

They boys had fun making their very own pizzas. Mommy was happy because she cut the calories and JUNK in a regular pizza with way healthier options. So simple but so easy.

Marc and I tend to get addicted to certain tv shows. Ill be honest, they are usually pretty stupid shows. I think he just likes to unwind from the day and not have to think to hard about anything and I just enjoy them. For a long time we were hooked on Dog the Bounty hunter. Beth was AWESOME. Not sure how she ran around so much but somehow she got around. Lately we have found ourselves watching Operation Repo. LOVE IT. It pretty obvious it is VERY scripted but we cant help but laugh. Sonia from Repo is fierce! Ok, so I'm wondering.........who would win in a battle between these two. Could you imagine if they joined forces.

Let me tell you, she does NOT always draw those eyebrows in. Flipped me out the other night when she didn't have them on. I seriously couldn't stop laughing.

This shirt gives a new meaning to "Stretch" material. GOOD LORD BETH!

Its like a trainwreck you cant stop looking at. Just thought I would share. I didn't want anyone thinking to much intellectual stuff was going on over here at the Cochran household.

Thanks Beverly and Taffy Apple Salad Recipe!

So on a GREAT tip from Mrs. Beverly (she would be the second half to the MOST understanding Aunt and Uncle ever) I dropped the kiddos off at school grabbed my Mom and her GPS and headed towards the first Real Deal Home Decor I could find. It did not disappoint! The place was huge and I found some really neat stuff for my mantel. The closest one to me was in Jefferson and it was not as far as I thought so we got their a little early. We found a cute little coffee shop that had biscuits so were game. Seriously, I have no idea why these things were so good but they were probably the best one I have ever had! Afterwords we found the absolutely CUTEST pharmacy I have ever seen. I think we stepped back in time. I was looking for Opie....They even had a little counter in the back for lunch. I loved it! So, all this to say Thanks Beverly for the great tip, that place was awesome! I'm still going to have to go back for my kitchen table centerpiece though. Another excuse!
For those of you who wanted the Taffy Apple Salad Recipe here it is. I have always loved this. It is so easy and quick to do. Enjoy:
4 cups Granny Smith Apples
1/2 c. pineapple juice
1/2 c. sugar
1tbs. flour
1 egg-slightly beaten (beat this thing to DEATH, or else it will cook when you do the simmer part)
2tsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
1 8oz Cool Whip
1 cup chopped peanuts
Mix flour, sugar, pineapple juice, egg and vinegar in a pan. Simmer till thicken, let cool. Mix cool whip with thickened mixture thoroughly, add apples and 1/2 peanuts.
Put in serving bowl and sprinkle remaining peanuts on top. Chill and serve. Do not make to far in advance.
Take to family you love and enjoy!

Jimmy, you complete our family!
Cars and trucks, trucks and Cars make you a very happy little boy!

Always smiling. You make us laugh ALL the time.

You have always loved your cake!

You are our little HAM!
Jimmy, you have brought so much happiness to our lives. When you were born we were so excited but we just couldn't imagine what a second little boy would be like. Well, you just let us know that you were YOU! You makes us laugh each and every day with the funny things you say and do. You have the BEST attitude and you will try pretty much anything. You love to make me smile and you think EVERYTHING is funny. Every time I see you there is a car or truck in one of your hands (or pockets). You LOVE your daddy and you cant wait for him to get home every day. You would sit for hours and watch Dirty Jobs with him if you could. You started Pre-K this year and you are doing AWESOME. We are so proud of you honey!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIMMY!!

Soup-er Sunday

It was a soup kind of day....

What better day then a lazy icky Sunday to make a pot of veggie soup and chill. Today was pretty much the first day in a LONG time that we could just chill out and enjoy the weekend. We actually got tons done but it was relaxing too. I LOVE this recipe! I finally got the recipe right and it was my best batch so far.

YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY~ I really cant believe I like this soup because any other time I would turn my nose up at Okra or tomatoes.

I have to add noodles and meat for Marc but he loved it. Anything would be good on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Chocolate chip cookies to end the day and off to bed to start on the second week of school. The kids both had a really good first week. Tommy is really having a great time in second grade. He thinks they treat him like he is older. LOL Jimmy is soooooooo excited to get up for school every day. He gets up at 6 and keeps asking when are we leaving? He loves going. Lots to do this week. Jimmy is turning 4 Tuesday! Cant wait. Hope everyone has a great week. I'm off to google what is going on with Obama. Something about him backtracking on the health care......I'm all a tingle to find out. HA HA HA

My little men are all clean and ready to take on the big FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. Tommy does not seem as thrilled as I do and Jimmy says he is not going I can just take him to Grandmas. Hmm this should be interesting.

Well, its that time of year again. Kiddos are ready to take on school. Tommy is starting 2nd grade and my little Jimmy is starting Pre-K. I guess its true...time flys when your having fun.
Its time to say goodbye to Popsicles, pools, lakes, hoses, movies, amusement parks, lazy days in the fort, and trade it for skate nights, text books, holiday party's, basketball games and SO much more. I really feel like both the boys are going to LOVE their teachers this year. Jimmy got Tommy's old PRE-K teacher Mrs. Michelle and she is AMAZING. I meet Tommy's teacher and she seems great so I feel really good so far. I have a TON of pics from our trip to St.Louis and the summer in general but for some reason our photo software is not working. I will also be having a guest blogger coming soon to tell you all about the boys trip to see Mickey with Grandma and Grandpa. I will give you a hint...Its Grandma. LOL

To say I have been preparing myself for both boys being in school is an understatement. LOL

I have: organized all my drawers in the kitchen ( new junk will be coming in every day, I swear the teachers clean out their desks just to send it home to me.)
Got new inside hooks for the bookbag, coat and shoe station
Got new hooks for the car to hang their bookbags on the seat in front of them, (when they walk all over them it drives me a little crazy)
Cleaned out and organized the boys drawers and closets by outfits...trust me on this one...total time saver....
400 pairs of underwear ready for each boy...hehee just kidding...kinda

I will put some pics up Monday of the boys first day. It should be interesting taking Jimmy. When Tommy went to Pre-K I told him all about it, he visited and took a tour and met the teacher. Jimmy has never even seen the building and pretty much has no clue he will be staying from 8:15 until 2:45. Poor baby is the second child what can I say, we have been busy! HA

Take care and I hope all your kiddos have a great first day of school. Its going to be a great year.
