Its that time of year again. I LOVE the fourth. Probably one of my favorite holidays. This is one of my favorite pics from last year. Seriously could the boys be any sweeter looking. I must have just combed Jimmys hair. Since we will have company this year for the 4th I told the boys they could get some fireworks. They are so excited! I figure we will just get some sparklers or something easy. Daddy is going to be in charge of that craziness. Wish us luck we have all our fingers and toes in the next pictures you see. Oh, that's so bad.

This Old House

I am sure most of you saw the pictures below of the newly painted house. We practically stole the house a few years ago and it is time to start a little more up keep. But, when we buy a house we buy it to sell it. We live in it and enjoy it, but in the end we want equity to roll into the next house. We are not tree huggers by any stretch of the imagination, but we try to leave things (house) better than we found them. The things we do to the house is to ultimately add value. The next major project on the list is to tile the bathrooms. I am sure if you asked Becky it would be something else. We are very similar in our tastes when it comes to the house. By similar, I mean I agree with her to make sure she is happy ;). If mama isn't happy, no one is. Actually, we are very good at picking things out together. Although, I am the one that wants white wood blinds on the front of the house and she wants bamboo. Anyway, I enjoy working around the house. I find it therapeutic. Stay tuned until Becky posts pictures of the next project.

I was going through some of my old pictures to try to get some of them developed and I came across these. More proof that no matter how much time, effort or money goes into the perfect Christmas presents they would rather play with the box anyway.

All the planning and budgeting is a waste of time. Getting the Grandparents to babysit so you can fight the crowds at Target for the PERFECT Disney gift is unnecessary. Although this is our little secret....you should still have the Grandparents watch the kids... you know 'cause its good bonding time for them... HA HA HA.

And whatever one does, the other must do.

Sometimes I shake my head at these children of mine.

Im in love!

I LOVE IT! We are in know way completely done yet but we are closer then we were. Brian did an amazing job and I am so happy with the color. I could have gone darker but I don't like how the paint on some darker houses looks. My house gets more sun than any house I have ever seen. I'm not kidding. The sun just bakes this house. A darker color might have gotten a wavy look. Since I made some changes after my brother was done painting...oops... we still have to paint over the front door and two of the upstairs windows. Actually we need to find a way to get that high and then we need to paint them. After that we need new shutters and to touch up over the bay and repaint the front door. I'm sticking with black on everything unless anyone has any suggestions on a different color for the front door. Next up is Pike nursery. They are going to be my new best friends. I cant wait to get some color out there. Anyway, I LOVE IT!
By the way: We need your opinion. One of us wants to keep the bamboo in all the windows. (Like downstairs) And one of us wants to keep the white blinds in all the windows. (Like upstairs)PLEASE give us your ideas because we need to figure it out soon.

I just love when my hubby calls me at 10:30 at night to remind me to take out the water heater. He was so kind as to leave it on that rolly thing for me though. It was actually pretty easy but loud process. We are down to one water heater now so say a prayer it holds! Buying a new water heater is never what I call a fun purchase. Surely this family of four only needs one water heater.

Comments

Ok Grandparents,

I fixed Tommys comment section. You should be able to leave your comments now. I forgot that I had it blocked because you cant be to safe on the Internet. I realized that I read everything before he does anyway. With my constant monitoring NOTHING is getting past me! HAHA.

Anyone who is reading this blog leave me a comment and let me know. I keep hearing about people reading but no one ever comments. I want to know who is out there!

By the way on the chicken thing....never let your three year old help in the cargo area of the car while putting groceries away. OOPS!

SOMETHING IS FOWL!!!

The other day I asked Becky what was for dinner and she said chicken. When I got home that afternoon, I was ready to eat chicken. But, when I walked in the door she had this puzzled look on her face. She then said she couldn't find the chicken she has purchased earlier that day. Well, we had pork chops for dinner that night.

A couple of days went by and she said the car had an odor to it. I walked up to the car and noticed a putrid smell that would curl your hair. For those of you who have "bird brains," you have already figured out where the missing chicken was. It was in the car. The HOT, windows rolled-up, no air circulating, car. The missing chicken was found in a closed side compartment in the back of the car, hidden from plain sight.

We have used carpet cleaner, vinegar, Lysol and other odor masking concoctions. The smell is getting less noticeable, but still pretty bad.

The lesson here is to make sure every last grocery, especially meat, is counted for when unloading groceries from your car. Lesson learned.

Smarter than I was yesterday,

Marc

Why is Jimmy so quiet?

Oh, he is asleep. SSSHHHHH!!!!!! Don't wake the baby!

Top 5 reasons I LOVE MY BIG BROTHER!

1.) He is going to have Popeye arms after painting my house. He did an amazing job!

2.) He is by far the FUNNIEST person I know and he doesn't even try.

3.) Nobody is more easy going.

4.) You can not help yourself from being happy around him. It really is not possible.

5.) You will never watch cartoons the same after watching them with Uncle Brian.
(Ask me and I will tell you how Brian has me convinced Diego is actually a drug lord flying
through the jungle in his jeep. I'm not kidding he was killing me.)

I love you Brian! You did an amazing job and I love my house. That was one hard job and I really appreciated it!

Ill get pics up when it is all said and done!

THANK YOU!

You will have to excuse me. My blogging is taking a backseat to life at the moment. I'm spending every waking moment with the two cutest boys on the planet. Between several house projects, the pool, free movies, free bowling and the 200 other things I have planned I'm just enjoying my boys. Marc is building a little firepit in the backyard so we can roast marshmallows so I just made a Walmart run. Lets just say it was a typical summer Walmart run. Ice Cream, marshmallows, hot dogs, juice bars, watermelon etc... Oh, and don't forget the Frosted Flakes. So when I complain later in the week just remind me it was my fault! HA

Saturday night I got to go to dinner with some girlfriends from High School. Girls, I just want to tell you....

I HAD AN AWESOME TIME! I have missed everyone so much and it was great to be with you girls again. It felt just like going home. Stephanie, you have the same Laugh that I always remember about you. You are truly the only other person I know that laughs as much as me and that is saying a lot!!!!!!!! LOL Teri, you are still the sweetest most genuine person and I will be laughing about Shanghai for a long time! I will also never be going there! The BBQ will be at my house soon.

Im off to the pool for the second time today. Nap time interupted the first trip. HA I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! As sad as I will be in August when MY BABY LEAVES ME I am going to take a long nap!

Summer time sleeping. This is how I found Tommy sleeping last night. For some reason he likes to fall asleep in the guest bedroom. Probably because the bed is bigger and the PlayStation is in there. I just find it funny that a boy needs two nerf guns, one PlayStation controller, a granola bar and his favorite alarm clock to fall asleep.

Oh, how silly I am

Oh, how silly I am. I mistakenly thought I could run to the mall today to get the hubs some brown socks. Consider yourself lucky you weren't here last night for the "I cant find my brown socks melt down". The boys were actually really good so we had lunch and being the Oh so wonderful Momma I am I said yes to a cookie each. How much trouble could one little cookie cause. So they each got their little cookie in their little bag and off we were. As we rounded the corner into Dillards we entered as we usually do. You know that scene in any wild safari show.... the one where all you see is dust and debris like a ball rolling... and every now and then a foot or arm. Yeah, we kinda enter places that way. Then after so long I realized I was looking at stuff and everyone was sooooo quite. I heard Tommy snickering but thought hey this is nice. Then I realized why.... apparently Tommy decided to place his bag down his brothers back. My first thought was to scold Tommy then I reconsidered. Geez, talk about keeping little brother busy. Now, a good mom would have taken that bag out of her little boys shirt. A good Mom would have said we dont use our little brother like a trash can. A good Mom would have made Tommy take it out for him and go throw it away. I must confess Im a tired Mom! HA It kept him busy long enough for me to get the hubs socks, see the new line of purses and even what was new with sunglasses. Then..... I took it out. hehehehe

HELP!
My father has taken my mother hostage! I'm sure this must have been done against her will. She would never just up and leave for no reason. There have been a few random phone calls with demands such as "can you pull this movie time up" or "could you check something on Kelly blue book". There is a distinct possibly they may be fleeing on some sort of water craft as I believe they are trying to purchase a LARGE vehicle! If you see a man and women arguing over the price of cheese please call me!!!!!!!!! I'm pretty sure that will be them. As a side note please do not worry as I believe they are harmless if fed an abundant amount of movie popcorn every few days.
Thank you
